Fun fact, or not so fun fact? It takes 1,000 years for just one plastic bag to completely degrade. Even more so, there are as many as 1 trillion plastic bags used annually across the world. So, what does Act Global do about that?
There are over 7.5 billion people on our planet. Act Global recognizes the importance of protecting the environment and the wildlife that live among us. That means ensuring all of our products are engineered with only the best available materials.
Act Global has created the LiteEarth product line to assist in protecting the environment. LiteEarth is a cost-effective, durable, high-performing and environmentally-friendly closure system for municipal solid waste, construction and demolition, hazardous waste, CCR and industrial landfills. It offers efficient installation, and long-term protection against infiltration, soil erosion and wind uplift. It is an engineered, patented synthetic grass liner system used for the long-term closure of landfills and coal ash sites. Better yet, the system can last anywhere between 36 and 50 years.
Our Turfscape product line protects the environment with every purchase by donating a portion to Water.org to aid the water crisis and participate in the United Nations Global Compact. Act Global is also the official turf supplier of Homeless World Cup and a supporter of World Vision and CARE.

Act Global is a global leader in high-performance synthetic turf, with a manufacturing facility in Dalton, Georgia, and delivering field installations in more than 90 countries. Act Global’s football turf systems have been selected for premier venues, including the New Orleans Superdome (2013, 2017, and 2018), MetLife Stadium (2014), and U.S. Bank Stadium (2016 and 2019), reflecting the company’s commitment to safety, performance, and innovation.
After 12 years, Act Global is proud to have partnered with ATS Pte. Ltd for the Saint Andrews Secondary School project located in Singapore for their second installation. Daniel Clapham was the sales representative and head of the project.
The school’s first field was built in 2007 with the Pro N64 system. After experiencing its high quality for over 12 years, the decision to reselect Act Global and ATS for a second installation was clear for the Saint Andrews Secondary School.
The turf chosen for the field was the WR compliant 3G system Xtreme Turf D60-360 C7010XC, utilizing a long pile diamond monofilament with a shock pad, a combination that is perfect for the school’s sporting needs. This carefully engineered system works well with Singapore’s year-round hot and humid weather due to the turf’s strong resistance to climate tea and the customized Plana pipe drainage system designed and installed by ATS Singapore The turf is developed with the use of maximum UV inhibitors so that it can with-stand heavy use and intense climatic conditions over long periods of time. This allows the fibers to last longer and perform better. The field is Act Global’s first WR certified field in Asia-Pacific.

Bring out the swimsuits, paddle boards, and ice cream trucks! Happy first day of spring! It’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy these next few months. But what does this time of year mean for your spring sports team?
The spring can affect training schedules due to the increase of variable weather and rainfall, resulting in less playing time for your players. Synthetic turf fields mitigate this and allow teams to use the field for more hours of the day and more days of the week due to the decrease in canceled practices, games, and tournaments.
Let’s take a look at the numbers: synthetic turf fields can be utilized for 3,000 hours per year without rest in comparison to natural grass fields which can only be used for approximately 680 hours per year. The fields do not degrade during any season and in result give players a more stable playing surface, especially during the springtime. From a city hosting perspective, this means an increase in revenue as well since tournaments no longer have to be canceled for the conservation of a natural grass field.
So, let’s get down to business. The springtime is full of joy and sports. It is also packed in weather changes and game cancellations. Synthetic turf fields resolve this issue completely and allow the spring to carry on with its assortment of sports. You shouldn’t have to cancel precious training or game time for your team just because Mother Nature doesn’t want to get with the program!

Act Global is honored to have been awarded “Sports Installation of the Year Award (Single Field over 75,000 sq. ft.)” by the Synthetic Turf Council at their 2019 Spring Membership Meeting and Awards Ceremony. The selected winning field is the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, home to the New Orleans Saints for the last 43 years.
On top of its regular season with the Saints, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome hosts seven Super Bowls and the annual college Allstate Sugar Bowl and the R & L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Due to the rigor and performance demands of top pro and college players, the Superdome requires a turf surface that can surpass these high expectations.
Although the state-of-the-art synthetic turf system from Act Global is engineered to withstand years of heavy use, the turf at the Superdome has to be replaced every year to keep up with the fast paced environment. Because the turf is still of high quality, high schools in need across America have the opportunity to enjoy an upgraded turf surface. “On behalf of the Jefferson West School District, I want to thank Act Global, the Superdome, and KTX Sports Construction for putting together this opportunity to provide a top-quality turf field for our students and community.” Pat Happer, the Superintendent of the 2017 field recipient-district, Jefferson West School District.
We’ve been thrilled to provide top quality turf and exceptional workmanship to the Superdome for the 2017 & 2018 seasons and to high schools across the nation. Act Global will continue to implement great systems this year and for years to come.
