Located in Temple Terrace, Florida, Buddy Baseball is a recreational league for boys and girls with special needs to enjoy the game of baseball with a buddy alongside.

The players and their buddies set foot on the field for their first game this past Monday, January 6th.
The field requires wheelchair accessibility, which is why Act Global’s ADA approved turf was right for the job.
Artificial grass beats out alternatives such as concrete or pads which lacks the look and feel of a true baseball field.

“It is great to watch athletes of all ages and abilities be able to play on our world-class surface,” regional manager Daniel McSwain said. “This was very close to my heart.”
Act Global is proud to be involved in projects that give back to communities. Our values are what drive our business and encourage us to Be More.

Nearly 450 members of the Davezieux Football Club set foot on the recycled playing surface in early September.

Davezieux, France–Act Global partner, EDER, completed the 8,6111 square foot installation with a new woven system known as WXF50-M.
The artificial turf is designed to resemble natural grass in terms of appearance and playability.
“The playing time is unlimited whereas a classic terrain does not support more than 7 hours a day and is deteriorating then,” stated Christophe Giraud, commercial technician at EDER.

A trio of synthetic fibres are woven into an interlocked backing system to offer 100% tuft lock for unmatched durability. Water passes easily through the woven backing allowing the ground to dry quicker. Pile fixation and dimensional stability keep fibres standing vertical and resist matting.
“We are proud to be the first synthetic turf manufacturer to deliver a fully recyclable full size soccer pitch in France,” Act Global Technical Director Guillaume Loubersac said. “Congratulations to our partner EDER for the perfect installation, and the outstanding dedication to the players, coaches, and managers of Davezieux Football Club!”
Act Global works daily to implement technical solutions with sustainable, economic, environmental, and social impacts.

Airports are filling their runways and taxiways with synthetic grass.
Erosion and birdstrikes are just a few of the hazards that impact airport runways and taxiways. Artificial turf prevents animals from nesting or burrowing near runways and keeps animals away from planes taking off and landing. Installing AvTurf, Act Global’s aviation turf, can assist in eliminating these hazards while providing a clean, green, and low maintenance surface area.
An artificial turf-natural grass hybrid is on the market.
A hybrid system lets real living grass grow up between the synthetic turf fibers formin a mixture of natural and synthetic blades–a woven backing makes this possible. Act Global offers Xtreme Grass hybrid which reinforces natural grass’ playability properties combined with the durability of synthetic turf. The synthetic turf fibers help stabilize and protect the natural grass to reduce playing damage and divots. The hybrid turf system is excellent for high traffic areas such as soccer goalie boxes.
Pets love synthetic grass too!
Pet’s won’t keep their owners from enjoying a luxurious artificial turf backyard. The soft yet durable fibers are paw-friendly, and distinct infills are manufactured to absorb urine and eliminate any odors–plus easy cleanup and no brown spots! Lastly, you won’t have to use pesticides on your lawn that are harmful to your furry friends.
Artificial turf is a sustainable way to cap landfills.
Current landfill capping systems typically run into issues of erosion and maintenance. With synthetic grass, the risk of erosion is reduced while obtaining a natural look. LiteEarth, produced by Act Global, and Solmax, have combined their expertise to produce the patented LiteEarth Capping System. The monofilament stand up system eliminates the need for infill and reduces the risk of erosion from wind or water.
Turf has no limits!
Synthetic grass can be used in a multitude of ways such as batting cages, art galleries, and even ceilings! At Act Global, we push the limits of our installations with our slogan in mind “Be More”. As a worldwide leader in turf manufacturing, we are always pushing ourselves to be more innovative when it comes to new projects, and are always up for a creative challenge. Every day we challenge ourselves to “Be More”.
