Act Global Teams up with the Homeless World Cup

For the fifth consecutive year, Act Global has collaborated with the Homeless World Cup to be their official synthetic turf sponsor. This year’s event took place at the heart of the Welsh capital, Cardiff, from July 27-Aug 3, and brought together more than 500 players representing over 50 countries.

The Homeless World Cup is an annual tournament hosted by the Homeless World Cup Foundation founded in 2003. The foundation uses football to inspire people who suffer from homelessness and help improve their lives.

A survey conducted by the Homeless World Cup Foundation revealed that 96% of people agreed football is a good way to bring people together. Along with inspiring this marginalized group of people, the foundation wants to destigmatize the perception of homelessness. The tournament attracts crowds of more than 80,000 and millions more watching online.

A recent study on global homelessness estimated 100 million worldwide are homeless and as many as 1.6 billion people lacked suitable housing. 94% of participants of the tournament in the past said that the Homeless World Cup positively impacted their life.

Act Global was founded in 2004 on a social and technical culture dedicated to serving the safety and performance needs of players while supporting communities across the globe. The Homeless World Cup and Act Global united on love for sports and a shared goal of helping the community.

Act Global is so excited to have brough 3 synthetic turf fields to the event and could not be more proud of the men and women who participated all week long.

Bronxville Union Free High School Upgrades Chambers Field with Act Global Synthetic Turf

After witnessing the large success and durability of Hayes Field since 2015, the district knew exactly who to turn to in the selection of synthetic turf for their Chambers Field. It was no question having seen it withstand flooding and snowstorms on top of its extensive daily usage each day over the course of four years.

Act Global partner, HERA SPORTS, installed a new Act Global Xtreme Turf BDX50 field for the school’s football, soccer and lacrosse teams. Like Hayes Field, the new Chambers Field will showcase GreenPlay’s custom infill blend of coconut fibers and cork and use the ProPlay-Sport23 product by Schmitz Foam. The ProPlay pad ensures that the playing surface is shock absorbent and safe to play on and the organic infill option helps support the movement of “going green”. This system will ensure adequate gradient drainage of water to help combat against harsh weather and flooding.

Now that the high school will have two synthetic fields at their disposal instead of one, the practice and game day schedule for their football, soccer and lacrosse teams will become easier and more flexible for years to come. The new field will be able to quickly fix past issues and help student-athletes continue to develop their skills and sportsmanship with the added playtime a synthetic turf field provides, approximately six times more than the average natural grass field.

“Act Global is honored to be chosen for the field replacement at their stadium, Chambers Field,” said Act Global General Manager for Sales and Operations, Jerry Harper. “The success of our BDX50 system at Hayes Field, Bronxville Union Free School Districts Multipurpose Field, provide the Broncos the most state-of-the-art facilities in the area.”

The school district, Act Global and HERA SPORTS are confident in the turf system for Chambers Field. The world-class turf company hopes to continue to touch the lives of the student body as much as it has with Hayes Field, serving the multitude of communities across the district.

Play More: A Pillar, Not A Slogan

Play More: A Pillar, Not A Slogan

It’s not anything new that children love to play. There’s something about getting to run around outside or playing a sport with friends that builds character. While it may be true as children get older their energy begins to slow, it’s safe to say their passion for competing will never go away.

Act Global thrives on providing new ways for children to go outside and be active. Studies show that children who play more outdoors are physically healthier, have better motor skills due to repetitive practice, and have stronger bones and muscles. Our synthetic turf fields help kids play for more hours of the day during any kind of weather or climate at any point of the year.

We encourage childhood competition and devote efforts to challenge kids in whatever sport they choose to engage in through our specialized sports fields for athletes all over the world.

Kids deserve the opportunity to Play More. Act Global proudly continues to innovate new ways to guarantee their safety on the field.
