Leading synthetic turf system by ACT Global Sports is now found in 50 countries
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: AUSTIN, TEXAS USA
ACT Global Sports, a leader in artificial turf technology, proudly announces their sales and installations have reached 50 countries. This milestone reflects the growth of the company and the increased popularity of synthetic turf throughout the world.
More and more sports fields have made the transition from natural grass to synthetic turf. The benefits of extended playability, low maintenance and water conservation are just a few of the factors influencing this progression. As a result, synthetic turf is often used in a wide range of applications such
as soccer, football, baseball, rugby, golf, field hockey, residential lawns and a variety of recreational and landscaping areas. Leading sports organizations such as FIFA and its Quality Concept for Football Turf also help to influence the growth and the development of the synthetic turf industry.
“We are very excited to have sold our Xtreme Turf and ACTurf systems in 50 countries. Apart from our corporate success, we are more pleased to have built a reputation for doing business in these countries with the highest ethics and in a socially-conscious manner,” expressed Director Chris Clapham. ACT Global promotes greater corporate and environmental responsibility through its support of various international charities and environmental groups. Its sales are conducted from company offices in the United States, The Netherlands, Poland, Cyprus, Thailand and China and through a global network of distribution partners. ACT Global Sports manufacturers its products on three continents and performs rigorous quality, performance and environmental testing.
As the world begins preparation for the next FIFA World Cup, the Zimbabwe and Malawi football teams celebrated victories in recent World Cup qualifying matches. These matches were played on Xtreme Turf synthetic pitches, which were manufactured and installed by Act Global Sports. The Xtreme Turf has received rave reviews from players and national coaches.
The use of artificial turf for top-level sporting events continues to grow around the world. FIFA plays a large part of this growth through its international standard for football (soccer) turf as well as investing in development projects around the world. In Africa, FIFA sponsored the renovation of the playing surfaces at Rufaro Stadium (Zimbabwe) and Kamuzu Stadium (Malawi).
Act Global Sports, a licensee of the FIFA Quality Concept, (UPDATE: Act Global is now a FIFA Preferred Producer for Football Turf) was selected to replace the natural grass surface with an artificial one that would meet the requirements of international FIFA matches.
“FIFA is making large scale investments to develop football in Africa, and we are pleased to be selected for these projects. We thank the Malawi and Zimbabwe Football Federations for their support on these challenging projects,” said Chris Clapham, director of Act Global Sports.

Before and after Xtreme Turf installation at Sport Club Corinthians, Sao Paulo, Brazil
Famous Sport Club Corinthians Paulista prefers synthetic turf from ACT Global Sports
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: AUSTIN, TEXAS
The synthetic turf surface installed at Sport Club Corinthians Paulista of Sao Paulo, Brazil has achieved prestigious FIFA certification. This is the first FIFA certified field ever installed in the country of Brazil.
To obtain this certification, the field must be tested by an accredited laboratory to prove that its characteristics are similar to natural grass. These measurements include shock absorption, foot stability, rotational resistance, linear friction and ball-to-surface interaction.
Sport Club Corinthians Paulista conducted an extensive study during its selection of a synthetic turf system. Corinthians wanted to make sure the surface would be safe and perform similar to natural grass. As one of the largest soccer clubs in Brazil, it has also high demands for its practice fields due to the intensity of use. FIFA recommended surfaces can meet these demands as part of required durability, UV stability and base construction testing. By comparison, natural grass training pitches are not able to withstand the same number of playing hours.
John Baize of ACT Global Sports comments, “We value the FIFA Quality Concept as an excellent selection standard for clubs around the world to select synthetic turf systems. Through a field test and FIFA certification process, a club can gain greater assurance of a safe and superior surface. We are excited to have provided Corinthians with our world-class Xtreme Turf in conjunction with our local partners in Brazil.”
Sport Club Corinthians Paulista is one of the most successful first division teams in Brazil with multiple championships in its history including the FIFA World Club Championship. Founded in 1910, it has an estimated 24 million fans and professional players that are known throughout the world.

ACT Global Sports conducts field test to earn FIFA two-star certification
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: AUSTIN, TEXAS
ACT Global Sports announced today that it has signed a three-year license agreement with FIFA and has achieved a FIFA Recommended 2-Star Certificate for its installation at Chung Jang Sport Park in South Korea.
“This installation demonstrates our commitment to sports performance and proves our artificial turf system performs like natural grass”, comments Chris Clapham, director of ACT Global Sports.
With increased worldwide participation in sports and leisure activities, artificial turf provides an ever-growing solution to the maintenance and durability limitations of natural grass. This has led several international sport organizations to evaluate the use of artificial turf surfaces as a natural grass alternative.
FIFA, the world’s soccer governing body, has obtained significant testing, medical research, and player feedback in order to understand the playability, safety and performance of the perfect natural grass pitch. As a result, FIFA developed its highest two-star rating system to identify the best artificial turf pitches. By proving through extensive laboratory and field testing that its artificial turf system performs like natural grass, an artificial turf supplier can earn a FIFA Recommended Certificate.
Installations that earn a FIFA Recommended 2-Star Certificate are eligible to host all FIFA international tournaments if allowed by the competition rules. Wil Ditzel, Director of ACT Global, explains, “We are very excited to offer an artificial surface that is manufactured and installed according to the highest quality requirements in the world. The successful field test enables clients such as Chung Jang Sport Park to obtain the FIFA 2-Star Recommendation.”
