Commodore Hendy Field now features a synthetic turf system from the world-class manufacturer

Buzzards Bay, MA- Despite challenging weather conditions, Act Global of Austin, TX, working together with Argus Construction of Bedford, MA and Activitas Inc. of Dedham, MA, completed Commodore Hendy Field in time for the 2018 Buccaneers Baseball Season.

Massachusetts Maritime selected the Act Global synthetic turf system to increase playing time and offer more flexible usage for the baseball and soccer teams. The all-weather field relieves the stress of planning practices around inconsistent weather and provides more opportunity for home competition dates. The state of the art system is resistant to freezing and flooding, expanding the possibility for usage throughout the year.

“The field looks great and we appreciate the work you have done from start to finish. Thank you for all you have done to make this project a huge success.” Garin Veris Director of Athletics Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy celebrated the Grand Re-Opening of Hendy Field by winning a doubleheader on April 28.
