The Patriots are starting out strong this year already touting a 3-0 record and outscoring their opponents 40-7! The Pittston Area School District, located in Pennslyvania, called on Act Global, HERA SPORTS and Mericle to add some spice to their baseball facility as they continue their incredible season. The installation team installed was is known as a bullpen!
In baseball, the bullpen is the area where relief pitchers warm-up before entering a game. Over the last few years, the bullpen has increased in popularity amongst amateur and professional teams. This is because it provides every team to have a place for multiple pitchers and allows an easy transition for when the starter begins to show signs of fatigue.
The Pittston Area School District decided it was time to add some bullpens for the team. It was a no brainer for the school in their decision to choose Act Global’s Xtreme Turf BDX for the installation. The turf is designed to provide durability and consistency for the players while removing bad hops. In a game of fatigue, it is incredibly important for the players to have only the best surface availability.
Act Global sends a big shout out to HERA SPORTS for the great installation and Mericle for the site work and site management! Synthetic turf has its benefits in every place an athlete practices and plays!

Bring out the swimsuits, paddle boards, and ice cream trucks! Happy first day of spring! It’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy these next few months. But what does this time of year mean for your spring sports team?
The spring can affect training schedules due to the increase of variable weather and rainfall, resulting in less playing time for your players. Synthetic turf fields mitigate this and allow teams to use the field for more hours of the day and more days of the week due to the decrease in canceled practices, games, and tournaments.
Let’s take a look at the numbers: synthetic turf fields can be utilized for 3,000 hours per year without rest in comparison to natural grass fields which can only be used for approximately 680 hours per year. The fields do not degrade during any season and in result give players a more stable playing surface, especially during the springtime. From a city hosting perspective, this means an increase in revenue as well since tournaments no longer have to be canceled for the conservation of a natural grass field.
So, let’s get down to business. The springtime is full of joy and sports. It is also packed in weather changes and game cancellations. Synthetic turf fields resolve this issue completely and allow the spring to carry on with its assortment of sports. You shouldn’t have to cancel precious training or game time for your team just because Mother Nature doesn’t want to get with the program!

Located in sunny Oviedo, Florida is the Pre-K-12th-grade private school, The Master’s Academy. The school has grown over the past 30 years to be highly successful by mentoring young students to strive for excellence. In addition to a robust academics department, the athletics program at TMA is seen as a tool to further its mission of fostering personal growth and leadership within its students.
In 1986 The Master’s Academy was started with just over 200 students and utilized rented spaces for the campus. However, the school was quickly adopted by the community and as the size of the student body began to grow, TMA was able to secure its own land in 1999 and open its Oviedo campus the following year. Renovations and upgrades to the campus have continued throughout the years and have helped the school reach new landmark milestones of development. Notably, in 2014, The Master’s Academy remodeled its baseball field to feature Act Global artificial grass. Act Global’s synthetic baseball turf systems offer a reliable solution to remove bad hops while providing excellent drainage for completely consistent play. Synthetic turf was specifically selected by TMA so that the field could be used year round and so that it would be durable enough to withstand the high-intensity use of multiple teams throughout the day. The artificial grass surface also looks exceptional with TMA’s bright blue colors and bold school logo.
The Master’s Academy Eagles made it to playoffs this season in the 2018 3A FHSAA Baseball Championship. Good luck to the Eagles on their 2019 season!

Montigny Baseball/Softball is a club that has grown significantly from its humble beginning in 1988. The Cougars were created by two passionate players that saw a lack of competitive baseball teams near their hometown of Montigny-le-Bretonneux. The teams initially started competition in the French National 3 (Division 4), and quickly rose from their culmination and creation of players and skill. In between the 1999 and 2002 seasons, the Cougars evolved into a Division 1 team. In 2015, Montigny Cougars became the biggest club in France with 255 licensees. The team had an excellent 2016 season which included finishing 2nd in the regular championship and winning the title of French champion of Division 2, thus marking their return to Division 1 for the 2017 season.
As Montigny baseball/softball continues to improve the resources they have to develop better athletes, the club recently upgraded their surface to our synthetic turf. Made for speed and precision, our baseball turf is engineered for consistent play to remove bad hops, high drainage, extreme durability and long-term inlaid markings. Because of this, the Cougars now have a top-quality artificial grass system that will allow each of the eight teams to perform exceptionally.

Marin Catholic is a private college preparatory school dedicated to providing students with a foundation in faith, knowledge, and service.
For the Wildcats, renovations to the Bishop Daly field could not come soon enough. Last season teams were forced to navigate tree roots growing in the outfield from the bordering vegetation. Because the field is co-occupied by both the baseball and the field hockey team, Marin Catholic utilized the summer break to address growing safety concerns.
After 15 years, the school selected Act Global’s synthetic turf for both the infield and the outfield. Our California partner, The KYA Group, helped in arranging and installing the Wildcat’s new surface.
Adan Callan, the school’s athletic director has noted that “Everyone is excited for the project to be complete… and the students are excited to play on it.”
The multi purpose turf offers high-speed play with ideal traction and stability to enhance player protection. Our artificial grass is benchmarked against top natural grass facilities to ensure precise engineering of our surfaces. Because our products are developed using maximum UV inhibitors to withstand heavy use, our synthetic turf is a durable surface that will last longer and perform better under the use of multiple teams.
To minimize undergrowth trip hazards in the future, the previous trees in place will be replaced with palm trees.
Yesterday was the first practice of the women’s field hockey team on the new turf at Bishop Daly. Good luck on the fall season, and Go Wildcats!
