Two new synthetic turf systems from Act Global have been approved for FIH National play. The sand dressed field hockey pitches are certified to provide a durable surface for athletes that can sustain high levels of use. The strength of the system allows it to also cater to multi-sport use and is the standard for schools and competitive clubs.
According to FIH, better-skilled players now prefer sand dressed/non-filled surfaces for their greater consistency and comfort.

Act Global is also a preferred supplier for FIH.
Act Global is honored to welcome both of these new systems into the FIH Quality Programme for Hockey Turf.

HCQZ (Hockey Club Quick-ZOW) or QZ is a hockey club from The Netherlands that has its home in the southwest region of Nijmegen at Staddijk Sports Park. The club emphasizes an atmosphere of teamwork, involvement, engagement, and solidarity for each of its players, fostering sportsmanlike athletes. The club was officially founded in 2006 after a long-discussed merger that brought together the Mixed Hockey Club Quick (formerly known as Nijmeegsche Ladies Hockey Club Quick) and MHV ZOW to encompass 650 hickey members.
This summer we had the opportunity to work with our partners at Sallandse United to install our synthetic turf in HCQZ’s wet field. Our artificial grass is engineered and tested to offer a superior playing surface by offering greater speed and precision. Our hockey turf gives a flat, fast surface with lower friction, free moving fibers for footing and stick movements, and technical accuracy for consistent ball roll and rebound. This means that the teams of HCQZ will compete on a professional hockey system that will allow them to play at their best.
The official grand opening of the field for the fall 2017 season will be on September 2nd.

Millfield Hockey in Somerset, England. Featuring Xtreme Turf and Certified to FIH Global elite level play. Installation and picture by Verde Recreo.
Millfield, a leading private school in Somerset, England, recently received two new state-of-the-art synthetic turf hockey pitches to support their thriving hockey program. The pitches feature Act Global’s water-based Xtreme Turf NFH13-MF, and were professionally installed by partner Verde Recreo.
Millfield is today one of the top UK independent schools for students aged 2-18 years. As the country’s leading hockey school, the sport continues to flourish for both boys and girls at Millfield. The hockey program focuses on encouraging player development for all, with a strong coaching staff, specialised technical one-to-one training; and athletic development sessions with strength and conditioning coaches. Millfield’s hockey program competes very successfully in the National Schools and IAPS competition, and many pupils will graduate to international and Olympic teams.
The new FIH Global pitches from Act Global are a significant addition to the prestigious hockey program. Global Certification signifies a playing surface with elite performance qualities, ideal for developing these top young players. Xtreme Turf NFH13-MF is a water-based system, designed using highly resilient yarns, a short, dense pile height, and a glass-reinforced primary plus latex coating. The non-filled system is built with an in-situ shock pad and irrigated with a water layer to provide optimal speed of play, excellent foot stability and technical ball accuracy.
“We are honored to work with our partner Verde Recreo and Millfield School to bring these players the best in quality hockey turf,” said Gary Breen, regional sales manager for Act Global.
Act Global was recently appointed an Official FIH Supplier, which confirms their commitment to delivering top-quality hockey pitches around the world. This initiative is part of the FIH Quality Programme for Hockey Turf which is aimed at ensuring good quality hockey fields are built for all levels of play, from elite level competition to community development.
