Act Global is proud to announce that we will be renewing our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact this year. The UNGC asks companies to align their strategies and operations with principles of human rights, labor reform, environmental sustainability, and anti-corruption. Our renewal to the movement signifies our devotion and determination to take action and advance our society.
As part of our “Give More” pillar, Act Global strives to give back to society whenever possible. We do this by supporting multiple world aid organizations such as World Vision International, CARE, Water.org, and Fields of Dreams Uganda’s Dresses for Dreams. Through our sponsorship as the official Home World Cup turf supplier for the past 4 years, we have impacted over 1 million homeless lives.
We use our resources to give to these organizations and promote them through our platforms because we believe in making a positive impact in every aspect of our company. It is part of our responsibility and privilege to give back, to protect lives, and to create a brighter future for all.

Every sport that has ever been played was first created on a natural grass field. Today, many of these sports have gone on to be played professionally and casually on synthetic turf fields due to the environmental benefits and heightened performance and safety for the players.
To keep the integrity of the game, Act Global uses a synthetic turf system for every field produced and continues to find a perfect balance between measuring performance and safety. Depending on the sport, different performance factors are considered. By using synthetic turf, you are able to control the performance in a consistent manner through fiber type, fiber height, and infill. Refer to https://bit.ly/2UaRSh5 to find out more about infill.
The Synthetic Turf Council describes ball-surface interaction as this: “Ball-surface interaction describes the performance characteristics of the field that relate to the ways in which the ball reacts to the surface. It is important that the ball perform as close as possible to the optimal performance characteristics for the sport or sports being played on the field. Therefore, measurements of vertical ball rebound, angled ball rebound, and ball roll, are taken to compare against the published standards of the regulatory organization(s) applicable to each sport.”
Act Global continues to take in input for every potential field project along with recommendations for turf systems that will best benefit all athletes.

In May it was announced that Owasso High School would be resurfacing its football and baseball fields to feature new artificial grass. Both fields are a serious upgrade for the school, which was relying on old synthetic turf and natural grass for its playing surfaces. Stigall Field, the district’s home turf for baseball games will be re-outfitted a specialized baseball system from Act Global known as Real Play Technology. Real Play Technology is only available on Xtreme Turf systems and is shown to remove unnatural ball roll and bounce.
The design of the new football field came from the inspiration of the stadium’s press box and the team’s uniforms. The midfield logo even matches the ram visible on the school’s wellness facility exteriors.
With the completion of these fields, construction continues to face-lift the high school’s softball field, an indoor practice field, and a multipurpose field.
This installation is being completed by our partner, General Sports Surfaces. The teams at General Sports Surfaces are experts in high-quality sports construction and turn-key services. Paramount Centre is a communal sports complex for the people living in Mississauga, Ontario. The centre spans over a sports arena and entertainment venue, community ice rinks, Mississauga SportZone, and outdoor fields. The active community is located just outside of Toronto and home to multiple sports franchises. One new team to Mississauga as of this fall is the Mississauga Metro Stars. The Major Arena Soccer League team practices and competes at Paramount Centre and is 1 of 17 teams in the league.
The premier sports and entertainment complex is going on its 20-year anniversary since its inception in 1998. The SportZone itself just celebrated it’s 10 year anniversary last fall, after modernizing the north field to feature Xtreme Turf. The FIFA 1-Star certified field offers the most safety and playability measures available for a sports field. The all-weather turf allows residents to play 7 days a week and all 4 seasons of the year while retaining the same texture and strength of a high-quality natural grass field in the springtime.
This installation was completed in 2017 by our Canadian partners, Carpell Surfaces. Carpell visited the site again this year to capture new imagery of the field, still looking fresh and new. Carpell Surfaces is a leading supplier and installer of synthetic sports surfaces across Canada. The company has an excellent reputation for top-quality installations in sports facilities at major universities, colleges and schools, as well as high-profile sporting events.
