![Act Global Donates Three Synthetic Turf Fields for the Homeless World Cup]()

The top quality pitches from Act Global hosted players from around the world for eight days of football and fellowship in Oslo’s City Hall Square.
Austin, TX- For the third consecutive year, Act Global has collaborated with the Homeless World Cup to be the official turf sponsor and donor. This year’s tournament took place in Oslo, Norway, and brought together 50 countries with more than 500 players for the eight-day festival.
The Homeless World Cup is an annual celebration by the participating National Partners that use the power of football to help those who are homeless or socially disadvantaged. By playing football, individuals who have become displaced and isolated can build relationships as well as reintroduce structure and support into their lives. The tournament is an opportunity for individuals who are invisible on the streets to become heroes on the field while representing their nation. Norway’s capital city hosted the 15th edition of the Homeless World Cup from August 29- September 5.
An estimated 100 million people are homeless worldwide, and as many as 1 billion lack access to suitable housing. Of past Homeless World Cup participants, 94 percent have said that the event positively impacted their life, and 77 percent have experienced significant change.
Gathered from a uniting love of football, the participants had the opportunity to play on a professional-level synthetic turf system from Act Global. The durable, consistent, all-weather surface was more than just a pitch for the participants, rather a place to belong. It is on these fields that players were joined by thousands of fans, volunteers and members of the media for the celebration of strength and resiliency. In the end, Brazil’s mixed team won the tournament for the third year in a row, and Mexico’s women’s team claimed victory in the female bracket.

Philippine’s mid-size municipality of Carmona is preparing to welcome the country’s first FIFA Goal field.
Carmona has been nicknamed the “Center for Sports” of the Phillippines. The city promotes an emphasis on health and wellness for its citizens through facilities and services. The artificial grass pitch currently being installed will reinforce this message by providing a focal point for football within the city.
The synthetic turf used for the field offers a durable and versatile solution that will require little maintenance. The durable turf pitch will offer elite level performance and will greatly increase training hours for the players in the area.
The installation team has been working around the clock to lay our turf on the ground.

Today is the final day of competition in the 2017 Homeless World Cup. The past seven days have been filled with football and fellowship, as well as moments of growth for each of the players. For the final round of play, each team will have one more opportunity to take to the field and represent their country.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway kicked off the tournament last Tuesday at the Opening Ceremony. Since then, 54 countries consisting of over 500 players have competed on the three synthetic turf fields set up in Norway’s capital city. The tournament has already proved to be impactful in the lives of this year’s players. The sense of camaraderie and community that has fostered in this year’s players is unprecedented.
In the match for bronze in the men’s bracket, Greece and Australia rejected the traditional separate pregame rituals. Instead, the teams united together for a joined huddle.

The 29-year-old from Ireland, James Nolan, has a renewed sense of self-worth. He plans to return home and focus on attaining a permanent, safe home that will allow him to see his kids more.
England’s Marek Hyde has gone from a Heroin addict who sold his passport for a high to a full-time employee who is able to support himself. Hyde credits the sport of football with aiding in his recovery and rehabilitation into society.
19-year-old Rupanti Kumari from India has said that the tournament has opened new doors for her after her father’s death due to illness and brother’s death due to a terrorist attack. Kumari grew up working on a farm in an area of India that is now dangerous. The HWC has given Rupanti the opportunity to pursue a career in coaching football to inspire other girls to play as well.

With over 100 million people living without adequate housing worldwide, this tournament hopes to both decrease this number and change the public’s perception towards homelessness. We’re proud to work with this organization by providing the artificial grass surfaces that each of these teams compete on. The rain hasn’t stopped the Mount Dora Bulldogs from debuting their new synthetic turf field.
The turf for Tom Jett Field was one of the final pieces in finishing the Bulldog’s new stadium. Chronic rain has been an issue for the school’s last football field, so the new artificial grass system will ensure that the team has a safe surface to play on. The all-weather turf includes a new drainage system that will allow players to get back on the field quicker after rain and play more hours each week. Mount Dora Christian Academy is also the only school in the Lake County area to have a stadium that features artificial turf.
The grand opening of the new athletic facility took place last Friday, August 25th on the Bulldog’s first game of the season. The team took home a win over Legacy charter with a final score of 35-19. Tonight the Bulldog’s will be hosting another home game, facing off against Bayshore Christian at 7 PM.
Good luck to the Bulldogs tonight, hope you pull another win!

This past weekend the New Orleans Saints’ new artificial grass was debuted at the Mecerdes-Benz Superdome. Both fans and the media immediately recognized the upgrade to the stadium, and the change was met with positive remarks on social media and the press.
Nick Underhill, a journalist for the New Orleans Advocate remarks below on Twitter:
In another piece by The Advocate, reporter Scott Robalais starts off the article that analyzes Saturday night’s game with: “First off, the new turf inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome looks great. A much more vibrant green than the old rug”.
The Saints performed excellently on the new turf, completely shutting down the Texans. The final score was 13-0 with Darius Victor named “Player of the Game” for his 8 carries, 30 rushing yards, and single touchdown.
