FC Cincinnati might have only begun play in 2016, but the past two seasons have established FC Cincinnati as one of the most successful and most supported teams within the USL league. FCC holds a captivated and engaged fan base including more than a dozen different support groups alongside casual fans that support the local team’s extraordinary success. Drawing in almost 500,000 fans to Nippert Stadium throughout the season, FCC broke its single-season record for attendance.
United Soccer League compiled a “Year in Review” for FC Cincinnati that showcased the strong 2017 season. The team ended with a 12-10-10, 44pt record and placed sixth in the Eastern Conference. The first-class coaches did an excellent job in retaining 17 key players from 2016 that helped build a stable foundation for the team going into 2017. FCC continued to compete at a superiorly high level, dominating not only the USL league but also defeating Major League Soccer teams Columbus Crew SC and Chicago Fire in the U.S. Open Cup national tournament. While average attendance was over 21,000 per game making FCC the only team in USL to average over 20,000 fans per game, the matches against MLS teams drew up to 33,250 supporters.
The 2017 season ended in October and FCC competed in one payoff match where they lost to the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Act Global is excited to continue to watch the team grow and excel going into 2018. The team currently has its home at Nippert Stadium where Act Global’s brand of synthetic turf has been the surface of choice since 2013. The artificial grass system is engineered for safety and performance and backed by intensive laboratory tests and natural grass benchmarks of top fields to ensure its high-caliber quality.
Congratulations to FC Cincinnati on a phenomenal season, and good luck going into 2018!

Hydra is a small island off the coast of Greece that is a prominent tourist destination that preserves its historical integrity. The picturesque island features cobblestone streets, charming taverns, and blue-watered beaches. While tourism brings many people from around the world to Hydra, the island sustains its own municipal population of just under 2,000 residents as well. Hydra offers a tranquility driven by a ban on all vehicles ranging from cars to bicycles. A preservation order sustains Hydra’s antique appeal and unique charm.

A few years ago Act Global had the opportunity to construct a professional quality football pitch for the residents of Hydra. Voted the “most beautiful” field in Greece, the synthetic turf system also offers substantial safety and performance benefits. The artificial grass is engineered and tested to offer a superior playing surface for the players by offering a surface that is fast under the foot and provide sufficient firmness to limit fatigue injuries to the lower extremities of the player’s body. The synthetic turf system also provides proper Rotational Resistance (traction) to ensure foot stability and to enable quick release of the shoes during rotation and traction movements. The surface also maintains consistent and uniform ball-to-surface interaction for superior ball control.
Act Global is committed to bringing the highest quality turf surfaces to people across the world, inspiring health and happiness through the power of active play.

The Goal project was created in 1999 to offer tailor-made programs to suit individual country needs to advance football within the country with a high quality, fully outfitted field. In 2015, a Goal Development project for the British Virgin Islands Football Federation went out to bid. This was possible through land leased from the local government and support from the surrounding neighborhood. The project helped create jobs for local laborers, provide a safe place for children to play football, and establish a focal point for the community to gather within the new stadium.
The Caribbean island of Tortola has experienced destructive weather during this hurricane season. Heavy rains in August contributed to mudslides, flooding, and power outages. In September both Category 5 hurricane Irma and hurricane Maria caused extensive structural devastation throughout the island- “Tortola has lost 95 percent of its buildings, telecommunications capacity, most of its infrastructure and all vehicles”.
he Goal football pitch designed and installed by Act Global also suffered significant damage from the storms. The project manager for the field recently visited the site to observe and record the destruction produce and to work with and BVIFA to evaluate the damages. On site, it was observed that a large quantity of flying debris caused heavy contamination of the infill with glass shards, rocks, plastics, and other sharp objects that pose a serious safety concern. However, the base work remained intact throughout multiple storms and continued to perform as designed and drain remarkably well.
As the rebuilding and rehabilitation of the island of Tortola continues, Act Global will work to ensure the members of the community have a safe football pitch, free of damage and debris.

A synthetic turf field is an investment in your team. An artificial grass system allows athletes to play longer and is engineered to offer specific safety benefits while withstanding heavy use and all types of weather. However, not all synthetic turf is created equal. High use and heavy UV exposure can cause lower quality products to degrade over time, causing breaking and splitting of the “grass” fibers, fading color, reduced strength, and overall poor performance. Act Global turf is crafted to overcome these deficiencies with maximum UV protection, proven and tested to defy the hottest and driest climates in the world.
With installations covering six continents and more than 80 countries across the world, Act Global turf has been exposed to climates with the highest UV concentrations. In addition to the extensive number of references, over 100 laboratory tests have proven the performance of Act Global synthetic turf to exceed industry standards. In a climate test designed to assess tensile strength, Act Global turf underwent artificial weathering and 3,000 hours of UVA/UVB exposure. UVB, a harsher ray than UVA, is not required for industry testing. The results revealed both the monofilament and SPC fibers were almost a 100% more resilient in color and tensile retention-exceeding industry standards for IRB, STC, FIH, and EN 15330-1. The fibers also had less color change than what is required by the standard. Seven popular yarns colors in addition to green have passed climate testing to achieve lasting durability, performance and color stability in all climates.
These tests prove that in addition to the functional and safety benefits of Act Global synthetic turf, you can be assured that our artificial grass will remain vibrant and colorful for the lifetime of the field. Act Global turf is engineered with UV protection to ensure that every line marking, logo, and end zone remains vivid and genuine.
