The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team will take on the Korea Republic Women’s National Football team tonight at 7:00 PM at the SMG managed Mercedes Benz Superdome. Tonight’s match is one of only four games left in the U.S. Women’s Team’s 2017 schedule, the first of a doubleheader of friendlies against the Korea Republic. These two teams have not met since 2015 which resulted in a 0-0 draw.
The United States Women’s Soccer Team is a three-time FIFA Women’s World Cup winner and the most successful team in international women’s soccer. The team currently occupies the number one position in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings, a position it has held almost continuously since March 2008.
In tonight’s match at the Superdome, the U.S. Women’s team will test the durability and playability of the recently installed Act Global synthetic turf. The artificial grass is engineered and tested to offer a superior playing surface for the players, creating a surface that is fast under the foot and provide sufficient firmness to limit fatigue injuries to the lower extremities of the player’s body. The synthetic turf system also provides proper Rotational Resistance (traction) to ensure foot stability and to enable quick release of the shoes during rotation and traction movements. These specifically engineered components of the turf will help protect individual players so that the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team can perform their best tonight.
Good luck to the United States Women’s team tonight!

Urban Soccer is a network of sports facilities and a French leader of foot5 tournaments. Created in 2005 by two former students of HEC, the brand has grown to comprise a total of 30 centers in France. Urban Soccer offers daily rentals of spaces for practice, tailor-made leisure competitions, tournaments, workshops, and private rentals of a facility. To complete the full-service nature of the venue, Urban Soccer is complete with a bar and restaurant.
As a facility that is dedicated to providing the most to its members and never sacrifice playability, we are honored to be the choice of synthetic turf for Urban Soccer’s indoor pitches. Renovations of the Meylan facility took place in early September to kick off a new season with a new surface. The artificial grass chosen for Urban Soccer is an exclusive blend of fibers that offers unmatched durability for high-intensity play. As a venue that hosts high-intensity play all day every day, Urban Soccer demanded a synthetic turf system that can enhance performance, withstand heavy use, and provide a safe surface on impact. The artificial grass was ready for immediate use by the facility after installation.

Lakeside High School is a public high school located in the quaint western Riverside town of Lake Elsinore, California. Lakeside is one of three high schools in the district. Students are taught the fundamental pillars of respect, integrity, scholarship, and effort, and how to apply these traits to “rise and lead”. This is an expectation of students both in academic and athletic settings, and one that the football team has taken to heart. The Lancers currently boast a 5-1 record with multiple shutdowns of their opponents. Week 6 is about to get underway, marking the start of league games and the hunt for a playoff title. This week Lakeside will face off against Paloma Valley who match their 5-1 record. The Lakeside Lancers compete in the CIF Southern Section Sunbelt League.
With student-athletes working as hard as the Lancers, a safe and supportive surface is necessary for the long daily practice hours and games. The average high school football player can spend multiple hours a day practicing on the field, which is why Lakeside High School chose Act Global synthetic turf and installation by The KYA Group. The new multipurpose field is composed of artificial grass that is designed for professional play and offers quicker recovery from fatigue, ideal balance of shock absorption and vertical deformation, and a high yarn density for player comfort. This gives the Lancer football and soccer teams a stable and long-lasting sports system.
The Lancers will be taking on Paloma Valley High School at home tomorrow night at 7:00 PM.
Good Luck to the Lancers!

The University of Kentucky recently worked with Vescio’s SportsFields to isntall Act Global turf as the surface for their new outdoor soccer intramural fields.
Intramural sports on college campuses are an awesome way for students to get involved with their peer community and promote their own health and happiness. The University of Kentucky offers a variety of tournaments, clinics, and leagues to attract students of all skill levels who wish to get involved in sports. The school strives to provide students with top quality resources to aid in a successful college career, including providing top quality turf systems to its intramural leagues. For players and athletes of all skill levels, the quality of the surface they are playing on can have a significant impact on their safety and performance. Act Global artificial turf is engineered with player safety as the number one consideration. The University of Kentucky has taken excellent measures not only to promote the power of playing sports but also in keeping students safe while they do so.
Our technical director explains how our synthetic turf systems are designed to maximize player’s safety and comfort to soccer players:
- Our surfaces are fast under the foot and provide sufficient firmness to limit fatigue injuries to the lower extremities of the player’s body. In other words, they provide the right balance between Shock Absorption (the surface absorbs lots of energy during the impact thus provides safety) and Deformation (the surface does not deform too much during the impact thus provides springiness and performance). To give a bad example: a beach of sand will absorb lots of energy when you run on it but deforms too much under the feet thus creates feet instability and risks of fatigue injuries.

- Our surface is designed to provide proper Rotational Resistance (traction) to ensure foot stability and to enable quick release of the shoes during rotation and traction movements. If Rotational Resistance is too high, you have a risk of twisting knees, ankles. If it is too low, a risk of slippery over the surface.
- Our surface maintains consistent and uniform ball-to-surface interactions (ball bounce, ball roll) for a better ball control. Soccer players want to have consistent ball-to-surface interactions wherever they play, from pitch to pitch, in order to adapt quickly to new conditions of play. Our rubber and sand mix is adjusted to absorb sufficient energy at the impact of the ball in order to get a bounce that is not too high. Our Bonar yarn is a blend of winged diamond and diamond shape yarns, the 1rst one provides softness to the skin for comfort and the second is stiff to ensure the ball roll is sufficiently slowed down and the ball is controlled properly during the dribbles.
