Diphu is the headquarter city of the Karbi Anglong district within the state of Assam. The small city is home to mainly local tribal populations native to northeast India.
Diphu faces large amounts of rainfall throughout the summer months that easily overflow natural grass fields. This constant rain can last for weeks or even months on end. The monsoon season can leave communities without an outlet to get active or advance players into competitive athletes. This is not ideal for a city that recognizes football as its most popular sport. Adopted by most of the residents, it is significant for there to be a presence of sport within the city.
Act Global and installation partner Decor India are revolutionizing the way football is played in India with the introduction of synthetic turf fields to communities across the country. India is beginning to adopt the artificial grass technology from Act Global as its surface of choice. After years of proven adherence to quality and safety, Act Global is a proven superior alternative to natural grass. The science that creates Xtreme Turf allows for the rapid expansion of days on the field despite climatic conditions and with little need for maintenance.

Tonight the Oregon Ducks are returning to the field for their season opener, at home, on Papé Field. It’s been a long 9 months since regular-season ended last November, but with a former star player for the team serving as Director of Operations for the team, the Ducks could have a knock-out season. In an exhibition game against Portland State, the Oregon Ducks dominated with a final score of 5-0.
The Ducks pride themselves to play at one of the school’s newest athletic facilities, Papé Field. The highly advanced field was designed to be technically sound for both the lacrosse and the soccer teams and have bigger-than-life school pride. The Act Global brand of turf features alternating color panels of bold greens and colossal Oregon logo at centerfield in the school’s treasured yellow. The Ducks are pleased to be one of the few schools with an artificial grass playing surface, a differentiation that gives the team a distinct home-field advantage.

While the lingering summer temperatures may have everyone fooled, fall and winter weather is on its way to relieve us of the seemingly relentless heat. For many states, the transition from scorching heat to blistering cold comes quickly and many sports enthusiasts, both athletes, and non-athletes are forced to retreat indoors. This is disappointing and destructive to the progression of playing ability, so, many areas have adapted to the climatic conditions to provide sporting solutions.
Minnesota is well known for its air-filled chambers that house synthetic turf fields both for practice facilities and the Viking’s previous stadium, the Metrodome. These giant structures protect players from outdoor elements including rain and snow. The city of Edina, Minnesota recognized the value of these dome structures and elected to construct a designated golf dome that is distinguished as the largest and longest hitting dome within the area and is complete with a putting green so players can work to improve all aspects of their game. Of course, these structures would not be complete without the technology of synthetic turf. Edina’s Golf Dome was built in 2013 and outfitted with Act Global’s superior artificial grass system, Xtreme Turf. The dense and durable fibers have helped the dome become a pillar within the community-especially during the winter months.
If you are ever in the area, be sure to check out the Braemar Golf Dome!
