SSV Rhade is a sports club located in the western German town of Dorsten. The club offers a variety of indoor and outdoor sports at a variety of age and competition levels to encourage all players to stay active through sport. The club has been present within the Dorsten village for over 92 years. This year, aligned with the 800th anniversary of the village, SSV Rhade elected to construct a new synthetic turf soccer field at Sportpark Dahlenkamp. The Act Global-artificial grass pitch will serve as the basis for a modern, up-to-date training within the club with one of the most technically advanced turf systems available. SSV Rhade now has a professional quality turf system that will allow coaches to work with players and encourage healthy lifestyles year-round- a top priority for the club.

Act Global synthetic turf is extremely durable and engineered from comprehensive research into safety and performance components. SSV Rhade’s artificial grass system has a proven history of quality and durability, backed by extensive testing and R&D efforts. Because players spend many hours each week training on their sports field, it is vital that the playing surface is strong, consistent, and stable.  The Act Global synthetic turf system is engineered for football teams with playability components that help athletes perform their best.

This project was possible through the work of our international partner, Sallandse United.  The knowledge and experience of the team continue to result in excellent work and expert installation of Act Global synthetic turf.

International Installation: Soccer World Berlin

Soccer World Berlin is a recreational facility focused with a focus in the development and training of soccer enthusiasts. Soccer World is the largest indoor soccer facility in the area and features 6 playing fields. Additionally, guests can relax at the on-site sports bar, workout at the fitness facility and participate in instructor-led workout classes, and host children’s birthday parties. Each of the indoor synthetic turf fields is rentable to patrons for pickup games and friendly competitions.

This year Soccer World chose to invest in new synthetic turf technology for each of the 6 fields in the facility. The artificial grass selected from Act Global offers a superior surface for indoor soccer play by maximizing player safety and comfort. By providing sufficient firmness to limit fatigue injuries to the lower extremities of the player’s body and proper rotational resistance to ensure foot stability, Act Global has developed synthetic turf surfaces that work with athletes. Our surface also maintains consistent and uniform ball-to-surface interactions (ball bounce and ball roll) for a better ball control.

This project was possible with through the work of our international partner Sportsgrass Tartemann and the installation team at Henitech.

Mercedes-Benz Superdome Turf Provides New Opportunities for Kansas Town

The professional synthetic turf system from Act Global has been relocated as part of a donation project by KTX Sports Construction to Jefferson West School District for widespread community use.

Austin, TX- Following the conclusion of the 2017 NFL season, KTX Sports Construction began the process of relocating one of the most prestigious artificial grass fields in the world to the northeastern Kansas town of Meriden. The relocation is part of a donation project from KTX Sports Construction’s Project 340.

Because the Mercedes-Benz Superdome installs a new artificial grass surface each year, each field is only utilized for eight regular NFL season games and two NCAA bowl games.  The state-of-the-art synthetic turf system from Act Global is engineered to withstand years of heavy use, making it a perfect solution for the town of Meriden looking to upgrade its high school athletic stadium.

“We have been looking into synthetic turf manufacturers for some time- weighing our options if you will. After meeting the people of Act global, and you match them with their unbelievable facilities and product, it was an obvious decision to team up with them! We look forward to building the field at Jefferson West and we can’t express how excited we are about future projects” -Jake Farrant -KTX Sports Construction, LLC owner.

“The Jefferson West School District is excited and proud to be working with both Act Global and the Superdome and to have the opportunity to install an NFL quality field in our community for our students. We anticipate that the quality of this turf field will provide many benefits to our student-athletes, band, cheer and dance squads, as well as our community at large. On behalf of the Jefferson West School District, I want to thank Act Global, the Superdome, and KTX Sports Construction for putting together this opportunity to provide a top-quality turf field for our students and community” – Pat Happer, Superintendent.

Act Global would like to thank KTX Sports Construction for organizing this exceptional project.

Field Feature Friday: Montigny Baseball & Softball Club

Since the club’s start in 1988, it has grown from French National 3 (Division 4) competition to Division 1-level play. The Cougars are also the largest French baseball club and encompass 255 licensees. The Cougars’ 2018 season officially kicked off earlier this month with a doubleheader on April 1st. The club started the season by winning both matches, setting the tone for its first official season in D1 play.

In 2017 the club upgraded its facility to continue to improve the resources it has available to develop better athletes. Of these upgrades were the installation of a world-class artificial grass field from Act Global.  Made for speed and precision, Act Global’s baseball turf is engineered for consistent play to remove bad hops, high drainage, extreme durability and long-term inlaid markings.  Because of this, the Cougars now have a synthetic turf system that will allow each of the eight teams to perform exceptionally.

On October 8th, 2017 the team hosted an inauguration of the new facility in Montigny le Bretonneux, Paris, France.

Act Global CEO John Baize joined industry leaders from around the world to participate in a forward-thinking dialogue of technical and commercial developments in the artificial grass and synthetic turf supply-chain. Each year this global conference offers diverse perspectives on some of the most critical topics facing the industry including key issues going on in the rest of the world, the latest technological advancements, trends for future developments, and how structural changes to the industry will impact future growth.

One of the most exciting results of AMI 2018 was the announcement to synchronize the world market for synthetic turf.

“Great news coming out of this week’s AMI conference in Barcelona as the Synthetic Turf Council (STC) and The European Synthetic Turf Organisation (ESTO) sign a Mutual Letter of understanding to join forces and approach the market as one global industry association. This collaboration is a great step in the right direction towards the worldwide growth of the industry! #SyntheticTurf #globalleadership”- John Baize, Act Global CEO.

This unifying collaboration has the potential to spread the benefits of synthetic turf and artificial grass to more communities across the world. This will increase access and availability of play and encourage outdoor sports recreation.
