One area Act Global continues to research is the interaction between player’s footwear and a ground’s surface. Due to differentiation in footwear from sport to sport, changes in vertical deformation, traction, deceleration, and slip resistance within a surface may yield significant differences in safety and performance. Optimizing these factors to engineer balanced synthetic turf systems can reduce some of the most common injuries athletes face on the field. Artificial grass features numerous characteristics that enhance the system overall such as infill particle size, level of compaction, and fiber type, and the most common movements of sports can vary from straight running to slalom, cutting and turning maneuvers, and landing after jumps. These are important factors that directly affect how each Act Global turf system is designed. Act Global aims to use research to make artificial grass act as a piece of protective sports equipment by maximizing the interaction between shoes and surfaces.

The infant-pre k academy located Meriden, Kansas officially opened its new outdoor play center featuring Act Global artificial grass. The surface is extremely durable but will stay soft and lush year-round to encourage outdoor play and activity throughout every season. By making it possible for kids to play more days out of the year and eliminating the possibility of mud and hard, dead patches of grass, Créche Academy’s new synthetic turf expands the possibility of play outside. This aligns with the childcare center’s mission to stimulate growth both mentally and physically within their students. Physical exercise is vital in the healthy development of children, and Créche Academy commits itself to ensuring its students receive adequate play time.
The Act Global synthetic turf installed at Créche Academy is part of a donation project organized by KTX Sports Construction’s Project 340. Créche Academy was selected by KTX Turf to receive a portion of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Superdome turf- a world-class, professional-quality surface.

Last week was eventful for the Act Global team, attending multiple shows across the country.
First, the team joined our California partner, The Kya Group, for the 2018 annual conference and California School Business Expo (CASBO) in Sacramento, California. CASBO is filled with a diverse array of leadership, offering varied and insightful suggestions in school athletic construction. Thank you, CASBO for hosting such an informative and well-run event!
Act Global’s regional sales representative Mark West also attended the Colorado Association of School Business Officials 2018 Conference. Mark loved interacting with all of the school district officials that came by our booth to share ideas of how athletic fields can continue to be improved. Safety of student-athletes is the first priority of Act Global while developing new synthetic turf systems to ensure they can perform at their peak. Thank you Colorado ASBO for hosting Act Global!

Copa América Femenina is one of the most competitive competitions in women’s football, with the champions of the tournament automatically securing positions for the FIFA Women’s World Cup. This year’s competition kicked off yesterday, bringing together the 10 national women’s teams of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL).
Copa América Femenina Chile 2018 can be watched by anyone worldwide through View Sports. Throughout the entirety of the competition, Act Global synthetic turf will be featured throughout multiple commercial breaks in each game. Act Global’s wonderful partner Ferrol Sports elected to have our world-class synthetic turf as a sponsor for the tournament.

Colorado Association of School Business Officials 2018 Conference
Kicking off today in Westminister, Colorado is the 65th annual Colorado ASBO spring exhibition. The association serves all 178 school districts within the state, and the conference allows officials come together to share ideas of how to advance school systems effectively and efficiently. Featuring a comprehensive array of breakout sessions and a keynote address, Colorado ASBO aims to promote best practices strategies and create professional collaboration and networking opportunities. Act Global’s regional sales rep Mark West is attending the event to share the importance of quality athletic turf. Act Global is committed to continuously researching technologies to make synthetic turf even safer and more durable so that athletes can perform at their peak.
2018 International Air and Space Fair
In Santiago, Chile, the Act Global team is enjoying a second day at this year’s FIDAE event.
