Edgewood High School was created with the mission to build a globally aware community of lifelong learners who achieve high academic standards. Through a diverse and student-centered curriculum, Edgewood aids in developing learners who are inquisitive, knowledgeable, and empathetic with a passion to engage in and contribute to their family, community, and the world around them. Edgewood challenges students to pursue both academic and personal success through a wide array of classes, sports, and extracurriculars. Edgewood is committed to providing students with the tools they need to perform successfully.
The Edgewood Lions athletically compete within the CIF Southern Section Miramonte League. The school’s synthetic turf field is specifically engineered for player safety and performance, and the extensively engineered surface is unmatched in durability- meaning that each of the Lions teams have a consistent playing surface. The proven performance of our turf keeps athletes of all sports protected from the most common injuries related to fatigue, including sprains, fractures, bruises and abrasions, and internal organs and concussions.

Colorado Association of School Business Officials 2018 Conference
Kicking off today in Westminister, Colorado is the 65th annual Colorado ASBO spring exhibition. The association serves all 178 school districts within the state, and the conference allows officials come together to share ideas of how to advance school systems effectively and efficiently. Featuring a comprehensive array of breakout sessions and a keynote address, Colorado ASBO aims to promote best practices strategies and create professional collaboration and networking opportunities. Act Global’s regional sales rep Mark West is attending the event to share the importance of quality athletic turf. Act Global is committed to continuously researching technologies to make synthetic turf even safer and more durable so that athletes can perform at their peak.
2018 International Air and Space Fair
In Santiago, Chile, the Act Global team is enjoying a second day at this year’s FIDAE event. Just one day until the largest international fair for air and space kicks off in Santiago, Chile.
The International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE) is an aerospace, defense, and security exhibition with the mission to improve aviation safety and technology in all sectors. For four decades FIDAE has celebrated innovation within the industry and encouraged investment into research and development to continue its rapid progression. This year’s exhibition will be FIDAE’s 20th annual event and will bring together hundreds of companies headquartered in dozens of countries around the world into 8 exhibition halls. The event runs from April 3rd to April 8th with the last 2 days featuring multiple air shows by top pilots.

Turf system carefully engineered for increased infill encapsulation, reduced temperature, more natural, greener looking field plus added durability.
The Al Islah community in Kuwait celebrated the opening of three community football fields. These elite level playing surfaces manufactured by Act Global in the Netherlands will expand the neighborhood’s opportunity to participate in both recreational and competitive play.
To maximize the durability and longevity of the fields, the client selected a same-stitch monofilament and SPC blended synthetic turf designed by Act Global and installed by Parla Sports in Kuwait. Offering excellent infill encapsulation, this Xtreme Turf system reduces the performance infill’s (SBR) exposure to direct sunlight thus creating a cooler playing surface for players and preserving a greener and more aesthetically pleasing surface. Designed for high-intensity use, the increased playing hours and longevity of the surfaces will increase revenue opportunities for the field owners, the high-performance characteristics of the field offer the players a top quality grass experience.
“We are delighted that the client made the choice to upgrade to this heavyweight turf system,” comments regional manager Daniel Clapham. “The combination of extra durability, superior infill encapsulation, reduced temperature, and a greener playing surface is perfectly suited to such heavy traffic, heavy use fields. There is also a need for such fields to be aesthetically appealing and enhance the local community. Parla Sport deserves a special mention for this project.”

Our team is having an awesome time at the Massachusetts Secondary Schools Athletic Directors Association 2018 Conference. Act Global can’t wait for another day of productive conversations and collaborative thinking of how to create better athletic fields that are tailored to individual school’s needs.
Our CEO John Baize and regional manager Bill Lorenz are joining athletic directors from across the state to share ideas and experiences of how athletics fields can continue to be improved.
The Massachusetts Secondary Schools Athletic Directors Association is a coalition that has worked statewide for over 50 years to improve the quality of Massachuset’s athletic programs. MSSADA is a group of professionals from middle school and high school level athletic programs, and whose backgrounds allow them to advance the standards of administrative leadership and provide support to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA).
