Lakeside High School is a public high school located in the quaint western Riverside town of Lake Elsinore, California, and home of the Lancers. Earlier this year we had the opportunity to work with our outstanding partners at The KYA Group and Greenplay Organics to craft multiple beautiful, safe, and environmentally friendly sports fields for Lakeside High School. The new multipurpose fields are composed of artificial grass that is designed for professional play and offers quicker recovery from fatigue, ideal balance of shock absorption and vertical deformation, and a high yarn density for player comfort. This gives the Lancer football, baseball, softball, and soccer teams a stable and long-lasting sports system.
Greenplay recently traveled to Lake Elsinore, California to meet with Lakeside High School about the performance of the new fields. While there, they filmed some stunning aerial footage as well as an interview with the school’s Athletic Director, David Drake. In the video, Drake explains why Greenplay’s organic infill was the perfect choice for Lakeside High School’s new fields and how the organic material aids in keeping fields cooler without sacrificing playability or performance.

Exeter College football just added an immaculate synthetic turf surface to its collection of resources for its athletes. Verde Recreo Ltd. completed the design and build of the new artificial grass facility that features Act Global’s Xtreme Turf and TLC LED floodlighting from Musco Lighting. Not only does the field glow bright and beautiful, but the turf also offers substantial safety components for elevated playability and performance. With a precise balance between shock absorption and deformation, ideal rotational resistance (traction), and consistent and uniform ball-to-surface interactions, Act Global’s synthetic football turf maximizes player safety and comfort to reduce the most common injuries related to fatigue. This is why Act Global football turf has been selected as the surface of choice within top facilities across the world and has earned partnerships with elite professional leagues.

The Exeter College football teams will be breaking in the new turf in practice on Monday.

Act Global is thrilled for the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) 2017 Technical meeting to be kicking off tomorrow in New Orleans. The city is full of rich cultural history, beautiful architecture, and is home to the New Orleans Saints stadium: The Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Act Global was honored to be selected as the synthetic turf surface for the facility earlier this year and is eager to check out the system while in the city.
The Superdome has been home to the New Orleans Saints since 1975, but how much do you know about the stadium? Did you know:
- The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is home to the largest indoor turf field in the country at 111,831 sqft.
- The Superdome covers 70 acres of land and has a football seating capacity of 76,468. Due to its size, the Superdome is one of the major tourist destinations in the United States.
- The synthetic turf surface of the Superdome was manufactured and installed by Act Global.
- The NFL has hosted seven Super Bowls at the Superdome, most recently Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.
- The Superdome has developed a reputation for being one the loudest arenas in the NFL due to the increased excitement of fans since its reopening in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
- The turf surface is designed to enable proper foot traction and (just and importantly)
- The grass yarns in this high face weight system would stretch for roughly 25,213,240 feet or about 4,775 miles. That is the approximate distance between the Superdome and Madrid, Spain!
- While Act Global leads with advances in player safety and performance, looks still matter!
- Act Global’s brand was also featured in last season’s Super Bowl and NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas and is being utilized at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis (hone of this season’s Super Bowl).
- While mostly known for hosting the New Orleans Saints, the Superdome also hosts the Allstate Sugar Bowl, R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl and famous acts such as U2, Taylor Swift, and George Strait. Let’s not forget the upcoming Monster Truck Jam and Wrestlemania 34!

Week 12 of the NFL season is wrapping up tonight, but yesterday’s game day was the paramount attraction after the Thanksgiving-day matches. Act Global synthetic turf saw a lot of attraction from professional players this weekend, but the Cincinnati Bengal’s win over the Cleveland Browns boasted a noteworthy breakout from rookie running back Joe Mixon.
The Bengals took on the Browns for the second time this season-part two of the Battle of Ohio- at Paul Brown Stadium yesterday. The Bengals fought to keep themselves in the running for playoffs, while the Browns were hoping to put an end to their losing streak. The Bengals were able to hold the Browns at a single touchdown and three field goals, securing a final score of 30-16. Joe Mixon was an integral asset in attaining Sunday’s win by running a career-high 114 yards. After 11 continuous, substandard games that did not reflect his college capabilities, Mixon broke out and led Cincinnati’s offense to an impressive performance on our turf.
Paul Brown Stadium has featured an Act Global-owned line of synthetic turf since 2012. The system continues to prove itself as an extremely durable and safe surface that permits the team to perform exceptionally each week. The artificial grass has been indispensable to the outdoor stadium, as it has withstood and thrived in all weather and climatic conditions throughout the years while retaining its aesthetic value.
In week 13, the Bengals will face off against the Los Angeles Chargers, which they are the incumbent winner from last season.
Good luck to the Cincinnati Bengals!

Originally constructed in 1990, the Arizona Cardinals training facility was designed to stand at the forefront of the sustainability movement. This extremely forward thinking mentality and future-oriented approach helped craft the 96,000 sq ft, Tempe, Arizona center. Outfitted with ample natural lighting to reduce the need for artificial light and ventilation utilizing moist air current created by outdoor irrigation, the facility dramatically reduced its need for electricity throughout the day. In addition, a 300′ wall of terracotta chimney flue tile protects the floor to ceiling glass from the harsh west sun, keeping the facility cooler.
In 2015, the entire facility received upgrades to adapt it to improved use of state of the art technology, as well as enhanced space for rest, recovery, and nutrition. Because the original training campus was designed so well, these upgrades focused on expanding communal areas so that players could spend more time together off the field-developing the feeling of a “team”.
In 2013, one of the three natural grass fields at the facility was converted to synthetic turf and enclosed within a climate controlled, an air-supported structure named “the bubble”. The team saw a need for a field that was playable in all weather and that required minimal maintenance while extending playing hours. This is especially important throughout annual training camps where players spend entire days practicing and training. The turf selected is now a branch of Act Global as is recognized within the industry for its safety and performance to help protect against high impacts.
