Starting August 7th stadiums across the country will begin filling up with fans eager to watch their teams at these August exhibition games before the regular season commences September 6th.

Xtreme Turf DX60 Successfully Installed at Kamuzu Stadium, Malawi

Famous football stadium replaces its existing,ten-year-old Act Global artificial turf field with the world-renowned Xtreme Turf DX60 football turf system.

The original turf was installed by Act Global in 2008 as part of the FIFA GOAL Programme and has been used for national and international competition matches, including World Cup qualifiers. The stadium is currently home to the Nyasa Big Bullets, a top Malawian football club. When the decision was made to replace and upgrade the existing football turf surface, the durability and performance of the original turf, the proven track record of Xtreme Turf DX60 and the fact that Act Global has succeeded in delivering FIFA Certified fields in Malawi (FIFA Technical Centre Blantyre, FIFA Certified 2015), and in neighboring Tanzania at the Karume Memorial Stadium in Mwanza (FIFA Certified March 2017) were all key factors in the selection process

Our longstanding partnership with Afriturf should not go without serious mention, a company that has worked with Act Global to deliver 12 FIFA Certified football turf fields in Africa, sometimes in remote and challenging locations, and shares our vision to bring the absolute best materials to the African continent, creating football fields that meet the highest international standards. This type of long-term partnership adds great value to the client, having regionally stationed experts in all aspects of football turf field construction as well as having locally appointed project managers to attend to every detail of project implementation. Having a trusted longstanding local partner means our turf is handled and treated in the correct way ensuring the finished field is in top condition

Act Global, Managing Director – Chris Clapham, writes that “Our company installed the first Xtreme Turf pitch at this famous stadium 10 years ago.  We are very proud to be chosen to replace the pitch with our latest turf technology, and continuing our support for football at all levels in Malawi.”

The field was completed on 28th June 2018 and will be field tested to FIFA Quality Pro standard in September 2018.

Austintown Fitch High School Sets the Standard for Sports Facilities with New Synthetic Turf Fields

Renovations of Falcon Stadium, Richard L. Coppola Field, and a new practice field maximize playability for the school and community.

Ground broke on November 8th, 2017 on Austintown Fitch’s new sports complex to feature professional-quality artificial grass on the school’s football, baseball, and soccer fields. Despite climactic conditions caused by Northeast Ohio’s variable winter weather patterns, the fields were substantially completed in April 2018.

Synthetic turf was selected by the Austintown Fitch athletic department to give players an upper hand in their training by canceling fewer practices and games due to volatile weather. The three-field renovation is helping to brand Austintown Fitch as a host of choice for many district, regional, and state athletic events. Richard L. Coppola Field, the only synthetic turf baseball field in the area, now appeals to local college teams and tournaments that require extremely durable, consistent, and safe surfaces. Athletic Director Lewis VanHoose comments on how Austintown is setting the standard for baseball in Ohio, “It’s a showcase. We are trying to bring baseball to the valley- we’ve already played five games that no one else in the area could play due to poor weather conditions.”

The renovation was made possible through the collaboration of installation experts SCG Fields and synthetic turf manufacturer Act Global. SCG and Act Global’s Xtreme Turf were selected for the project due to both company’s commitment to providing superior sports surfaces that enhance playability and performance. From commencement to completion, VanHoose has been impressed by the quality and attentiveness of both Act Global and SCG Fields.

“The experience was great we are very happy with how the fields turned out,” VanHoose notes. “We have one of the top facilities in the state of Ohio now… that’s really impressive.”

Event: Texas High School Coaches Association 2018 Convention

Yesterday, Sunday, July 22 kicked off the 2018 convention of the Texas High School Coaches Association in San Antonio, Texas. The comprehensive conference brings together coaches and administrators from across the state alongside leading individuals at the collegiate and professional level to discuss how to better shape student-athletes and provide them with exceptional tools for success.

Our Act Global team loves to have the opportunity to attend events in our home state and meet local leaders in our community athletic departments. Events such as THSCA give us the opportunity to speak directly with coaches and administrators helping to develop young athletes and understand their needs for sports surfaces. The open dialogue at this summit has allowed us to educate school districts on the importance of selecting synthetic turf surfaces that are more than aesthetic and low-maintenance. Act Global’s Xtreme Turf is designed, engineered, and tested for safety and performance with systems designed for every sport.
