Football season is back in session for many high schools across the country, and our favorite Florida champions kicked off their home opener on Friday with a win. The Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs shut down their opponents, the Legacy Charter Eagles, in a 36-0 game. While the Bulldogs had several players on both offense and defense that had the opportunity to shine, the Eagles earned no touchdowns, passing yards, or rushing yards throughout the four quarters.
Running back Tyler Allen was part of the all-star offense Friday night and was named the player of the game after multiple long-distance runs and a 60-yard touchdown run that secured their win and reinforced their powerhouse status for the 2018 season. The team suffered no turnovers, fumbles, or interceptions.
This season will be the team’s second year playing in their newly built stadium that was finished just in time for the fall 2017 season. Each aspect of the stadium was meticulously designed for the players and fans, including the synthetic turf field from Act Global. The field was constructed with a specialized drainage system underneath the artificial grass to keep the surface dry and play-ready despite the chronic climactic rain. This helps ensure fewer canceled games from weather and helps bring community members together under the Friday night lights and around the beautiful turf field that is completed with a large bulldog logo in the enter.
Congrats to the Bulldogs on their first win of the season, and we hope to see the team go undefeated once again!

The Cardinals took home a victory over the Chargers in their NFL preseason debut on Saturday night and many new players, including rookie quarterback Josh Rosen had the opportunity to shine on the field. Training to be a professional football player takes countless hours on the field and endless exhausting practices to get players game-day ready.
The Arizona Cardinals know the importance of a highly-functional training center that supports the acceleration of their players. The Tempe, Arizona located training facility for the team features a 96,000 square foot environmentally-efficient building that was conceptualized with modern components to be at the forefront of sustainability. The indoor facility focuses on rest, recovery, and nutrition, and the outdoor synthetic turf field was designed for performance.
Since 2013 the Cardinal training center has featured Act Global’s brand of artificial grass as one of the team’s 3 practice fields. The synthetic turf system, unlike the natural grass field it replaced, is able to be played on year round regardless of weather conditions and hours played on already.

Renovations of Falcon Stadium, Richard L. Coppola Field, and a new practice field maximize playability for the school and community.
Ground broke on November 8th, 2017 on Austintown Fitch’s new sports complex to feature professional-quality artificial grass on the school’s football, baseball, and soccer fields. Despite climactic conditions caused by Northeast Ohio’s variable winter weather patterns, the fields were substantially completed in April 2018.
Synthetic turf was selected by the Austintown Fitch athletic department to give players an upper hand in their training by canceling fewer practices and games due to volatile weather. The three-field renovation is helping to brand Austintown Fitch as a host of choice for many district, regional, and state athletic events. Richard L. Coppola Field, the only synthetic turf baseball field in the area, now appeals to local college teams and tournaments that require extremely durable, consistent, and safe surfaces. Athletic Director Lewis VanHoose comments on how Austintown is setting the standard for baseball in Ohio, “It’s a showcase. We are trying to bring baseball to the valley- we’ve already played five games that no one else in the area could play due to poor weather conditions.”
The renovation was made possible through the collaboration of installation experts SCG Fields and synthetic turf manufacturer Act Global. SCG and Act Global’s Xtreme Turf were selected for the project due to both company’s commitment to providing superior sports surfaces that enhance playability and performance. From commencement to completion, VanHoose has been impressed by the quality and attentiveness of both Act Global and SCG Fields.
“The experience was great we are very happy with how the fields turned out,” VanHoose notes. “We have one of the top facilities in the state of Ohio now… that’s really impressive.”

The Act Global team has been working away just outside Houston, Texas, checking up on the bear branch community soccer fields in The Woodlands. The installation of our Xtreme Turf at this large, multifield complex was completed throughout 2012 and 2013 to satisfy the growing needs and number or sports enthusiasts within the city. The artificial grass fields have since served as all-weather surfaces for daily practices and recreational play alongside competitive tournaments for local teams.
Despite years of opportunities for wear and tear of the turf systems, upon a thorough inspection of the fibers, infill, and overall aesthetic of the park, it has been found that the fields have remained in impeccable shape. Our team has been working to revitalize the many fields, but have found that our comprehensive maintenance procedure is not as necessary as would-be expected after 5-6 years of continuous use. The fibers of the Xtreme Turf system display no evidence of breakage throughout the park, and the infill is still soft and has not compacted.
Act Global’s specialized deep grooming process is aiding in the continuous assurance of fiber upkeep. For the community members of The Woodlands, this maintenance means that they will have consistent and safe high-performance fields for years to come.
